Soccer Ball Kicking

Having such intermittent time with Wyatt, it's a very special thing to know that I have taught him something. I recently introduced him to soccer ball kicking. We recently spent time with my brother, kicking the soccer ball in the front yard and driveway. I picked him up and swung his whole body to kick the soccer ball. He was very amused by that. A couple of nights ago, he decided to kick the ball on is own. He would run, kick it, then stop to see where the ball rolled.

Most of Wednesday with Daddy

Wyatt got to spend more time with me than usual yesterday. I arrived in Nixa just after his older brothers had left for school.
Here are the things we did & the places we went:
1. Storage. Wyatt loves to run through the halls of my controlled-climate storage facility. Sometimes we take bicycle rides together around the property.
2. We visited his Great-Grandpa Bailey at the Christian Care Nursing Center.
3. We visited his grandparents at their house in Springfield. He mostly slept while there.
4. We went to the city park. He enjoyed being on my shoulders while I shot baskets on the basketball court. We rode the swings, but he didn't have any interest in the slides.
5. He had fun gently playing with a red fist-sized ball while I had some audio work done to my big truck.
6. After picking up his older brothers and failing to find where they had dental appointments, we got goodies from a gas station.
7. We spent most of the remaining evening at his Great-Grandpa Baileys vacant house's backyard. There, we enjoyed the fire pit & made breakfast foods for dinner.
8. After dinner, we went to our favorite ice creamery for dessert. He had chocolate ice cream. The family ahead of us surprised us pleasantly by secretly paying for our confections.
* Wyatt had one rough moment: he tripped on the deck stairs & bloodied his lip. It should take only a day to heal.
* oh, and we also went to a hair salon for daddy's haircut.

Family Pictures

Grandpa Noel Greenwalt took pictures of us last night in his home office studio.

Birthday Gifts From Dad & Neighbor

One of Wyatts birthday gifts arrived in the mail. Yesterday, I was able to go get it. It is a trombone kazoo. Now, he can jam with his oldest brother, as he plays a real trombone. I taught Wyatt how to use it and he was very pleased.
Wyatts neighbor, Evelyn, presented Wyatt with a multi package of toy cars yesterday.

Weekend with Grandparents

Wyatt and Forest are staying with their Greenwalt grandparents this weekend while their mother is away on a retreat somewhere.

Talking a Little

Wyatt is beginning to express his communication skills a lot more now. He can say words like "goodbye" , parental names, and  version of "banana". Pointing is still his primary method of conveying his thoughts.

Feeling Better?

Wyatt wasn't feeling very well late last week. He was running a temperature, healing from scratches on his wrist and recovering from bug bites.

He Likes Brother's iPhone Too Much

Wyatt understands that cell phones do magical things. He likes to push the buttons & run around with his brothers' iPhones whenever possible. It's not fun when it's time to give it back. He plays a good game of "keep away".

Living it up at SDC

Wyatt, his mom & brothers went to Silver Dollar City the other day. It looks like being a little kid has its benefits!

Wyatt likes to goof around & eat with his eyes closed, especially as it amuses everyone around him.

He Goes to the End of the Block

School started yesterday for both of Wyatts brothers. His oldest brother, Hunter, catches the school bus at the end of the block. Mama walks Hunter the mentioned quarter-mile, with Wyatt in the stroller. Still in his sleep sack, the toddler doesn't suffer the slightest inconvenience.

Reunited

Both of Wyatts brothers were out of town last week: Hunter was at Boy Scout camp; Forest was out on a road trip. When Forest came home, Wyatt was really happy & affectionate.
